World’s Largest Torture Porn Studio Shuts Its Doors

Written by on January 27th, 2017

We are more than thrilled to hear that after ten years in operation, the torture porn company Kink.com—the largest producer of BDSM porn in the world—will be shutting the doors to its iconic studio in San Francisco.

Those who’ve followed Exodus Cry over the years know we’re passionate about the need for Kink.com to be shut down. We’ve heard first hand the heartbreaking stories of women who have been assaulted on camera for profit at the hands of Kink.

The horrific acts inflicted on film and through live webcams inside the 200,000 square foot dungeon-like building called The Armory, where Kink does its filming, include flogging, whipping, caning, electrocution, submersion in water, cutting, hog-tying, defecating on, urinating on, public humiliation, and simulations of gang rape to name a few. Now, finally, the production of porn will cease inside The Armory for good!

The Guardian recently reported:

“A handful of leather straps, sex toys and other bondage equipment were scattered throughout the mostly empty studios of Kink.com on a recent Thursday. Peter Acworth, founder and CEO of the BDSM porn empire, walked through the dark basement corridors of the San Francisco Armory, recounting how his company used to make as many as 100 films a month.”1…Kink’s business model has become unsustainable, leading Acworth to cease all production in the Armory.

Acworth disturbingly said, “There’s so much content out there. The human body only has so many orifices and so many limbs you can tie in so many ways.”

He continued explaining that over the last three years porn has migrated to free sites. Because of this, membership groups like Kink.com have struggled to make up revenue and that has forced the doors of the studio to close.2

We’re excited about this monumental shift! But we’re also aware that because there is an enormous demand for this kind of content, it will sadly continue to be produced in other ways and in other venues. Kink.com’s in-house directors have already said that they are now planning to continue their work by moving to Nevada and Southern California.3

Let’s take this moment to celebrate the closing down of a massive porn studio where some of the worst abuses have been perpetrated! But, let us also look with unclouded vision to the future knowing that the only way we will have true victory over this insidious industry is to eliminate the demand that perpetuates its very existence. Join us as we continue our journey onward toward ABOLITION!
