Exodus Cry:

Exodus Cry is a Christ-centered organization committed to abolishing commercial sexual exploitation and assisting victimized persons. Headquartered near Kansas City, Missouri, Exodus Cry started as a prayer meeting in 2007 and has quickly grown into a nonprofit initiative with a team that proactively seeks to combat sexual exploitation and the sex industry.


Position Overview:

As an integral part of the fundraising team, the Donor Relations Manager will cultivate, steward, and expand the relationships between the organization and its donors at all levels, by providing extraordinary service to donors and exceeding expectations in the areas of maintaining and managing donor information.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a “best friend” to the existing donors of Exodus Cry
  • A natural gift for cultivating long-term relationships with donors
  • Discernment as to when and how it is appropriate to ask for support, given each relationship
  • Boldness to ask for support when appropriate
  • Ability to engage in developing relationships with potential donors in Kansas City at least one full day each week, including cold calls or drop-ins to potential partner businesses
  • Assist in donor cultivation and stewardship events in general as needed
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service to external customers who request information including recent and past donations and other donor records
  • Fulfill data and reporting requests, including the production of donor lists, regular progress reports and extractions of data from the database for analytical purposes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor contact and biographical information
  • Design and execute data integrity projects including returned mail, address updates, merge and inactivation processes
  • Add gift information and donor correspondence to central files as needed
  • Participate in benefits and gift fulfillment
  • Provide donor history and records to development, executive staff and Board as requested
  • Assist in gift reconciliation with the general ledger
  • Participate in development of best practices and documentation and training of staff in maintaining accurate database records
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in or ability to learn and use Development software
  • Cheerful, outgoing personality and great telephone “presence”
  • Proficiency in creating and editing documents using Word and Excel and utilizing Outlook for electronic mail communications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather, analyze and summarize information including numerical and financial data
  • Strong people skills, as well as customer service and data entry experience
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
