In 2010 the Soccer World Cup will be help in South Africa. This is one of the biggest sports events in the entire world comparable only to the Olympics! From June 11 to July 11, 2010 millions of people from all different nations will converge in 9 different cities to watch these events. Many different governmental agencies are worried that with this many people being in such a relatively small place, that the demand for sex will rise exponentially. The fear is that human trafficking will rise to meet this demand. Currently South Africa has no laws recognizing human trafficking as a crime. So a victim of sex slavery can potential be charged as a prostitute. In response to all of this, the Human Science Research Council has said that the "answer" to the human trafficking problem is legalizing prostitution. This is a scary thing.

I believe that we need to begin praying now, that God would break in on the governmental leaders of South Africa to enact laws to combat human trafficking and that they do not pass laws to legalize prostitution. Even more then this, I pray that revival would break out in South Africa during this major event so much so that they would have to cancel the games. I have heard that during the Welsh Revival, that many of the soccer games were canceled, because of the revival. Can we not believe for the same thing in South Africa?

Father of Glory, I ask that You would begin even now to move on the hearts of the governmental leaders of South Africa. Lord I ask that You would shine Your light upon them, visit them with dreams and visions to quicken them to enact laws to fight human trafficking in their nation. God I ask that you would begin to set things into motion to allow many true believers to be in South Africa during the world cup, to bring people into Your kingdom, to be praying against the immorality that is trying to take place, and to ultimately pray that You break out with revival in that land. Lord, begin to pour out Your spirit in South Africa. In Jesus Name, Amen

It's amazing that an event

It's amazing that an event like this will probably only get publicized for the sporting festivities, yet there is a massive undercurrent of injustice going on...very typical of this whole world of prostitution.

Oh how I long for revival as in the days of the Welsh outpouring! During that time you would ask someone at the train station, "which way to the revival?" and they would point in a direction and say, "Go that way, until you FEEL it." Ha! The tangible weightiness of the glory of God, that's what I'm talking about!

Boots on the ground

Wouldn't it be amazing if there were an EC chapter whose only purpose was to travel full time to go to these locations prior to and during these types of events, whether they be major sporting events, or anything that causes the masses to gather increasing the trafficking...boots on the ground so to speak. Even perhaps strategically doing rallies in these regions. When the enemy comes in like a flood, lifting up the standard or banner of God in those areas.

Haha! We're going to target

Haha! We're going to target S. Africa for our city on focus soon, should be an awesome month of intense intercession. Lis Thompson from the Salvation Army sent out an eblast a short time ago about the alarming number of rapes that take place there. Disturbing.

Hidden in Plain Sight!

The True shocking nature of this whole sordid affair is that the government is actively seeking to promote and even legalize prostitution. It will not be an undercurrent of injustice, but rather a government endorsed endeavor aimed at increasing revenue. It was all in the newspapers while I was down there this past year. The government is so corrupted that there was talk of setting up 'booths' outside the stadiums. Although it may not go that far the government is still pushing it and wanting prostitution to be legalized.

Come Lord Jesus and if you go to South Africa... I want to come!:)

Government corruption is such

Government corruption is such a strong part of this. The same thing happened in Germany in 2006 during the World Cup. The german government issued permits that allowed people to set up street brothels right along the streets in front of the stadiums. An estimated 40,000 extra woman were trafficked into Germany to add to the estimated 400,000 that were already there.

If anything develops for a trip, I will let you know.
