My “Boyfriend” Trafficked Me for Sex | Caroline Pugh-Roberts & Benjamin Nolot

Episode Description

This week on the Exodus Cry Podcast, we are joined by Caroline Pugh Roberts, a survivor of trafficking who was swept into that world when a pimp recruited her through the lover-boy method.

After several instances of rape, losing her husband, mom and best friend, and undiagnosed depression, Caroline was a perfect target. Her “boyfriend” lavished her with gifts for six months, then turned the tables and forced her to sell her body to be able to “provide.” It began in strip clubs and quickly escalated to motels. After eight years of being trafficked by her pimp, she tried to escape. But it would take years before she was finally free.

Now, Caroline bravely shares her story and works full-time with victims of sexual exploitation. She has received the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal for her work in this area, as well as the Hope award and John Robinson awards.
