We’re excited to announce that we have nearly completed our next documentary, Liberated: Hookup Culture and the New Sexual Revolution!
When we finished our first film, Nefarious: Merchant of Souls, we were haunted by the images of women and children for sale in places all around the world—and the men lining up to purchase them.
We wondered, “What kind of society is producing so many men willing to buy a woman or child for sex?” Before Nefarious was complete, we knew what the next step in the journey needed to be—exposing the cultural forces that are fueling a toxic sexuality.
In Liberated, we focus on western culture. We examine a society where sex sells, where women are expected to conform to an idealized sexual image, and where men are socialized to consume women for sex.
This film asks the question, how does our conception of gender fuel our sexuality? And what role does media play in shaping our ideas about what it means to be a man or woman in today’s culture?
Liberated explores undiscovered fronts in the war on sexual exploitation and offers unexpected hope for healing and transformation.
