Why This Young Man Stopped Purchasing Sex

Would you believe us if we told you that a frequent sex buyer stopped purchasing sex after watching our documentary Nefarious? The truth is actually even better than this.

A teacher from a vocational school in Stuttgart, Germany bought a copy of our documentary, Nefarious, at a justice-themed conference. While at this conference one of the speakers addressed the audience, saying “Please, all the men in this room, please let other men in your area of influence know what is really happening when it comes to prostitution.”

This teacher began to ask himself what he could do to respond to this invitation in a personal way.

This young student confessed that he had been a frequent sex buyer, but that after watching Nefarious he was no longer able to continue purchasing sex!

His students at school were between the ages of 15 and 25, and he decided to show our film to his classes. He showed it to three different classes and not long after one of the screenings, a 20-year old student of his came up to him.

This young student confessed that he had been a frequent sex buyer, but that after watching Nefarious he was no longer able to continue purchasing sex! In fact, he went on to show the teacher a conversation on his smartphone—a conversation which he’d had with with his fellow peers—in which he was passionately insisting that his peers think twice before purchasing prostituted women.

In the words of this amazing teacher:

“I will continue to let as many students as possible watch Nefarious to show them the unmeasurable nastiness that is happening. I am hoping to see a movement of abolitionists just as it was during [William] Wilberforce’s times.”

We often say that films change people, and people change the world. We know from speaking with our followers that even many of you first became ignited in abolition after watching Nefarious. Every single life impacted and changed through this film is a victory, worthy of celebrating, in the battle against sex trafficking.

We know that Nefarious, rich with gripping true stories, will continue to transform lives as the Lord moves through it. And we have immense expectation that the true stories we tell through our upcoming films will reach millions more.

Currently, we are nearing completion on our next film and we have two others also in the works. Partner with us today to help transform many more real lives through films which can create a ripple effect—like the effect on this young man whose changed life immediately began to impact the lives of those around him.
